Jeunes Leaders Evangeliques
JEULEV is an organization that I created since I was in Haiti. Since my childhood, I discovered that I have a strong interest in helping those in need.
After some research into how I can help, I discovered that every human being has a powerful secret weapon named "inner talent" that can make them free, rich and successful in life. I also discovered that the world could definitely be a better place for everyone if people around the world had the opportunity to develop the talent they were born with, without being influenced by society to make them believe that their talent is lesser than another's.
A program to recognize and develop the talents of the citizens of the world would definitely help eradicate poverty, crime, war, racism, politic, socio-economic and environmental issues. By reducing needless energy and resources competing over which talent is better suited to respond to the world’s needs we could instead work together to reallocate said resources for the betterment of tomorrow.
Therefore I created this organization in order to meet with the youth, with the aim of raising awareness, training them, to make them see the need to be actively involved in the building of society and also to make improvements to their living conditions through their talents.
Karabela
The word "Karabela" is indicative of a soft denim-like fabric which represents Haiti's national traditional garment. It is typically embroidered with red and blue ribbons. The look for men is usually a short-sleeve buttoned down shirt and for women a long and flowy dress with sometimes a head piece. It symbolizes the Haitian culture's adherence to its African roots and looks very elegant. As a young man, I always remind people around me how important it is that we create businesses at an early age in order to invest in the future. I took the initiative in creating this business to bring love and opportunities to people around me. I have a simple philosophy:
SUCCESS=PREPARATION+OPPORTUNITY.
Through this business, I'm planning to bring opportunities to those who are prepared in order to help them embrace their success. In the meanwhile, I'm sending the message to everyone, especially the youth to stay focused on what they're doing. Don't lose hope, opportunities are on the way! With the combo of this organization named JEUNES LEADERS EVANGELIQUES and this business named KARABELA, my goal is to give a chance to every prepared person an opportunity to succeed.
As a young Haitian, I'm motivated to tell the hidden mysterious story of Haiti everywhere I go, to everyone I talk to. I gave myself a mission through my conferences to talk about Haiti and to help the young Haitians to fall in love again with their country.
Everywhere around the world, the media and the Internet never stop mentioning the name of Haiti. Isn’t it strange how Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world, but was the first Black independent country? Being built from slavery and colonized by European nations negatively affected Haiti socially, politically, and economically. Such setbacks affected generation after generation which is where we get the idea of present day Haiti. Haiti was not always poor. According to Christopher Columbus, because of Haiti‘s richness and beauty the country used to be called Hispaniola. For the French, Haiti was the Pearl of the Caribbean and the richest French colony at that time.
Therefore through my conferences, my organization and business, my number one mission and message to the Haitian community is to not use slavery as a crutch regardless of how it devastated the country.; to also advocate, inform and remind the international community that Haiti’s former invaders are absolutely the reason why the country is the poorest country in the Western hemisphere.
